Quality Assurance – Duck Processing Facility
Responsible for daily verifying of employees to assure they are following company GMP’s, hygiene, SOP & SSOP policies. Verifies compliance of HACCP Plan and governmental regulations
Verifies record keeping for all production lines. Ensures the proper use of ingredients used in producing each product line in accordance with USDA and company specifications. Verifies and records temperatures on the production floor, coolers, freezers, and ingredients.
Responsible for verifying and record keeping of all metal detective devices to assure metal detectors are function properly throughout the day. Investigates metal contamination of product and reports to appropriate personnel.
Responsible for taking random samples of ingredients and/or finished product for microbiological analysis.
Verifies and records all product labels, code dating, product codes, declaration and net weights.
Responsible for stopping production, when necessary, based on results of inspections and findings.
Ensures the accuracy of production and Quality Assurance scales as well as the accuracy of all thermometers on a daily basis.
Inspects incoming ingredients for verification, lab sampling, color, bar codes, legibility, weight tests, quantity, brand, truck cleanliness, temperature, to assure ingredients and packaging adhere to all company specifications.
Inspects returned/rejected products. Determines whether the product may be released for re-pack, rework, or placed back in inventory.
Responsible for verifying all shipments of finished product to ensure food safety and quality.
Maintains documentation, record keeping, filing, copying, paperwork distribution of all inspections performed.
Performs related duties as required
Knowledge of, or ability to acquire knowledge, the poultry or food industry
Ability to evaluate and prioritize departmental needs
Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of individuals and situations and resolve conflicts, as needed, within a team environment of all divisions
Working knowledge of computers, including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, tracking and trending analysis, statistical process control, and databases.
Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices including, but not limited to, USDA guidelines, OSHA requirements, HACCP regulations, Hazmat, and company policies
Will need to work with all levels of personnel & USDA representatives effectively
