Manufacturing Engineer

Texmo Precision Castings is a global company and our site in Warsaw Indiana is looking at significant growth in the next few years.. We have already invested a significant amount of funds to improve machinery and now this is starting to result in higher sales and a need for highly motivated Quality Manager to join our rapidly growing company. The Quality Manager will help us create & maintain quality documentation procedure for inspections and processes. They will also be responsible for providing hands on quality support for the manufacturing floor.

Adjacent Department to: Process Engineering

Role:
To work concurrently with Process Engineers, Product Engineers, Industrial Engineers, Quality, Production, Maintenance, and the Continuous Improvement Team to solve problems in manufacturing, in both pre-cast, post-cast, and machining processes. This role will rely heavily on mechanical design skills to design and build work holding and other solutions, as necessary, to increase productivity, quality, and safety. The Manufacturing Engineer will work with the cross-functional team to identify problems, design solutions, and work with fabricators to build and implement the solution in to the manufacturing process.

Core responsibilities:
1. Workholding and Poka Yoke Design: Design, develop/build/source and optimize work holding solutions for precision manufacturing with the goal to eliminate errors, defects and improve productivity, efficiency and safety.
2. Fixture and gauge design: Design, develop/build/source fixtures and gauges for investment cast parts.
3. Production Equipment: Design/develop/source workstation/equipment improvements and new builds.
4. Systems Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and optimize manufacturing systems, including machinery and software.
5. Process Optimization: Design and build solutions for process improvement, quality control, efficiency, safety, ergonomics, material movement, waste reduction and new processes.
6. Project management: Manage projects assigned from start to finish
7. Production Support: Provide technical support to the production team, helping to troubleshoot problems and implement solutions.
8. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of processes, standards and procedures.
9. Continuous Improvement: Participate in Kaizen events as a member of the cross-functional team, working to reduce waste, implement lean principles and best practices.

Knowledge, skills, and competencies:
• BS in Mechanical Engineering (or other engineering degree with relevant experience)5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Strong understanding of GD&T
• Highly experienced in 3D modeling software (Solidworks preferred)
• Good communication and commercial acumen to be able to liaise with vendors
• Project management and time management skills
• Creative thinking for design
• Design for Manufacture
• Enjoys working with a team
