“The first wealth is health.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

This week I am writing to share an overview of measures our team at KEDCo is taking in response to the COVID-19 pandemic for the weeks of March 16th and March 23rd.

  • We are closing the KEDCo physical office and I am asking team members to utilize telework.
  • We are offering to turn all in-person meetings into Zoom phone or video conferences.
  • We are canceling or rescheduling all KEDCo events.

Our team will focus much of our time the next two weeks on outreach to business and community leaders so that we can learn how this situation is impacting them directly or indirectly, determine what resource partners we can connect them to, and identify best practices we can share with others.

For example, look for a news release early this week from contacts at Warsaw Chemical who are manufacturing a product ‘right in our backyard’ called TB Quat that is pre-approved by the US EPA for use against COVID-19.

We will continue to be available by phone, email, or on social media (look for @KosciuskoEDC). I’m going to make an individual effort to highlight my favorite carryout options in our community on social media and encourage you to find similar ways to support local businesses during this time.

For more information on COVID-19, please visit Indiana State Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention websites setup to provide news and guidance.

Look for updates from our team about plans for the week of March 30th and thereafter. Let’s continue to put health and wellness first as we all do our part to limit the impact of COVID-19. Sending you a virtual elbow bump.
