KEDCO hosts INVets to give a closer glimpse of the community

By: Katie Dewitt, KEDCO Marketing & Communications Manager

As part of its Talent Initiative efforts, KEDCO recently hosted INVets team members Brian Evans and Miranda Onorio for a day of community tours, and building new connections with local employers.

INVets is a nonprofit organization founded by veterans that helps former service members transition to civilian life by connecting them with Indiana employers and providing career-building resources. The goal of the organization is to help veterans find a fulfilling career, while also supporting Indiana employers who are seeking talent.

“We want veterans to not only choose to work in Indiana, we want to make sure Kosciusko County is on their radar. With much to offer from a variety of career opportunities, and low cost of living, to an impressive list of quality-of-life amenities including 100+ lakes, Kosciusko County is special. This gives us another opportunity to share our story and welcome new residents,” said KEDCO Talent Program Manager Kristen Hale.

The INVets visit to Warsaw included: introductions and a tour at Nextremity Solutions, Inc., a meet-and-greet lunch with several local nonprofit and affinity groups, a community tour of several spots in Warsaw and Winona Lake, and a tour of Zimmer Biomet. They were even able to check out the St. Patty’s Day block party celebration in Downtown Warsaw!

KEDCO plans to host friends from INVets again this summer to showcase more opportunities and areas across the county.
