The Power of Partnerships

Wednesday, August 28, 2019

Not that long ago, I shared a story about how things are supposed to slow down in the summer, yet they never do. This marks the last week of summer before we turn the page on August and provides a great opportunity to review meeting notes, check in with team members and partners, and reassess plans for the rest of the year.

One of the plans we are building for next month is the inaugural Small Cities, Big Futures Summit set to take place on September 16-17 in Warsaw and Syracuse. This unique gathering will bring together contacts from a number of other small, Midwestern cities with significant industry presences. Drop me a line to find out more how you can support this initiative. We look forward to building partnerships with many of these other communities to promote best practices sharing and creative problem solving.

Something else that has kept us busy is our most recent Chairman’s Council Executive Roundtable events. We brought together leaders from the Northeast Indiana Colleges and Universities network, a consortium of 10-institutions with more than 40,000 students and 240 degree programs, to explain how employers in Kosciusko County can access the network. Long story short, a simple phone call or email to Ryan Twiss is all it takes to start a project with the network that will deliver a customized solution to your talent recruitment needs.

These two examples illustrate the partnerships we are building within Kosciusko County, throughout Northeast Indiana, and across the Midwest to support our mission to convene, build, and show our economic growth resources. Your involvement in KEDCo helps to put these partnerships to work to meet the needs of our local companies and communities. As you review plans for the rest of the year, what challenges can we help you solve or opportunities can we help you pursue?
