Time to turn it up

“The time is always right to do what is right.” – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

A few years ago, Kosciusko County became the eleventh community to join the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership (which made so many Spinal Tap ’11’ puns possible). About the same time, the Northeast Indiana region adopted the audacious Road to One Million goal to reach a population of one-million residents by 2031.

Our team at KEDCo has begun to look at how our work to convene, build, and show our community’s economic growth resources can accelerate Kosciusko County’s contribution to regional population growth. So, what could our community’s contribution toward regional population growth look like in the next eleven years (that number again!)?

If we are successful, Kosciusko County will reach a population of 101,100 by 2030, with an increase of 21,756 residents and creation of 14,403 new jobs and $800M+ in new payroll. To get there, we will need to increase per year in-migration from 249 to 2,176 and increase per year job growth from 165 to 2,176.

We are excited about the road ahead and our team is ready to amp-up our work to build companies and communities that retain and attract talent. Look for updates in the coming weeks about how we are working to build a pipeline of transformative projects and menu of concierge services to support community’s population growth.
