Job Description:
Position Summary: The Director, Human Resources is a vital member of the Paragon Medical Leadership Team, responsible for formulating and implementing human resources and people management strategies. Reporting to the Division Vice President, HR, this role is based at the Pierceton, IN facility.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as a trusted advisor to the Leadership Team, offering strategic guidance to support organizational growth.
Collaborate closely with managers, providing expertise and hands-on support in various areas, including talent management, diversity & inclusion, recruitment, workforce planning, onboarding, employee retention, employee relations, management coaching, performance management, and change management.
Cultivate and reinforce a robust culture aligned with company values, emphasizing continuous improvement and employee engagement.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of HR professionals.
Cultivate positive relationships with labor unions to uphold favorable labor relations and minimize operational disruptions.
Maintain the integrity of the HR database by processing data changes for new hires, terminations, and general employee updates within ADP.
Conduct annual talent reviews and compensation audits.
Develop coaching and leadership programs for key talent.
Manage monthly international headcount and collaborate with VP/BU Controller on monthly headcount projections.
Recommend enhancements to HR policies, programs, and procedures to optimize HR function effectiveness.
Partner with managers and employees to enhance work relationships, boost morale, increase productivity, and improve retention.
Monitor and analyze Business Unit metrics on talent, employee actions, overtime, global headcount, terminations, and voluntary attrition to propose necessary actions.
Collaborate with management and supervisors to identify staffing needs, define job specifications, duties, qualifications, and skills.
Oversee staffing activities, including candidate identification, interviewing, hiring decisions, pre-employment screening coordination, and new employee onboarding.
Ensure effective benefits administration, including developing, delivering, and coordinating open enrollment communications and orientations.
Collaborate with supervisors to investigate work-related injuries, manage workers’ compensation, and report case status as required.
Ensure timely completion of compliance training.
Assist employees with health benefit, pension, and 401(k) inquiries in consultation with Corporate.
Participate in the annual salary planning process and analyze compensation data for benchmarking and salary planning purposes.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all Human Resource-related inquiries, providing general support as needed.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Labor Relations, or related field
10+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a regulated manufacturing environment with exposure to unions
Experience managing multi-site locations with both union and non-union employees
Proficiency in all aspects of HR management, including recruiting, termination, benefits administration, employee relations, training, development, and coaching
Goal-oriented self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate and influence employees at all organizational levels
Thorough understanding of Federal, State, and Local employment laws
Knowledge and experience in Unions and Labor Relations
Ability to travel to supported sites (approximately 25% of the time)
