KEDCO Talent & Entrepreneurship Stories: KEDCO welcomes and supports entrepreneurs at the Downtown Business Studio

A place for entrepreneurs to go & grow

The new KEDCO Downtown Business Studio at 207 S Buffalo Street in downtown Warsaw (formerly Giverny Fitness Studio) offers more space and more opportunities. With three floors, the KEDCO offices are located on the third floor, space on the second floor is dedicated coworking space available this summer, and KEDCO has plans for a café-style community space including pop-up retail on the first floor.

“Local leaders encouraged us to maintain our downtown Warsaw presence, and our new location serves as a hub for our clients at every stage of business. It is also a learning lab for us to test drive programs and services we can take to other K-County communities.” said KEDCO CEO Alan Tio.

More about “first floor” opportunities

KEDCO has 3,000 square feet available to help first-time or part-time retail vendors establish a downtown storefront presence in the shared first-floor space. And KEDCO is also seeking an on-site food and beverage provider (or providers!) and a market manager for the retail space.

More about coworking memberships

KEDCO has dedicated second-floor space available for anyone interested in coworking memberships. Coworking space may be attractive to entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, remote workers, or road warriors who do not have a K-County office location. Initial options will include workstations, free standing desks, and meeting space. KEDCO is limiting initial reservations to 25 coworking members and will add amenities based on member requests.

“Our space provides a jumping-off point for entrepreneurs to start and grow, whether they’re ready to add a low-cost downtown space for their retail business or need an office away from home in the coworking space. When they’re ready to pursue the next step and plant roots in a different space in Kosciusko County, we can help with that, as well,” said Tio.

Coworking spaces are on the rise. There’s less risk involved, less barriers to entry as a member not an owner, and it’s a collaborative workspace that encourages innovation and community building amongst entrepreneurs. According to the U.S. Chamber there were more than 17,000 coworking spaces around the world in 2019, and the number continues to increase.
