KEDCO partners with local businesses and residents to continue ‘Clearly Kosciusko’ podcast series

Thursday, October 14, 2021

WARSAW, Ind. (October 14, 2021) – The Kosciusko Economic Development Corporation (KEDCO) today released the 25th episode of the “Clearly Kosciusko” podcast series, which offers a behind-the-scenes, hidden-secret, and things-to-do perspective on what makes Kosciusko County unique.

“I’ve mentioned before that we do a great job of being ‘Humble Hoosiers’ and that’s admirable in some aspects, because our community is full of compassionate and hard working people, “said KEDCO CEO Alan Tio, “But we’re also a community of global-leading businesses and extremely talented people, and we have unique stories to share.”

The podcast, which was launched in the fall of 2020, was developed to help tell the story of the people, places, and events that make Kosciusko unique through a collection of diverse stories shared firsthand from the people who live and/or work in Kosciusko County, whether they grew up in the community or journeyed here at a later time.

“We’ve had people from a variety of business sectors join us as guests on the podcast, from agriculture, to orthopedics, restaurant and hospitality, education, and arts and entertainment,” said Ryan Martin, KEDCO Agribusiness Partner. “Kosciusko County has such variety to offer people. And the podcast has been a great way to highlight some great community assets that may be undiscovered by some, or not talked about as often otherwise.”

Whether it’s shared insight on which local restaurants to visit, the scoop on the best lake activities or where to catch the fish, what it’s like raising a family here, or how the person landed in Kosciusko County in the first place, and why they’ve chosen to stay––the local people shape the community and each person has a story. Listeners will hear about all of this and more on the podcast.

The podcast is powered by KEDCO in partnership with local business J.C. Innovations LLC. KEDCO’s Tio and Martin serve as co-hosts for the podcast alongside Jody Claypool, Principal Consultant of J.C. Innovations.

“I’m a small business owner and not originally from Warsaw. Having lived and seen other communities, I am uniquely positioned to appreciate all that Kosciusko has to offer,” said Claypool. “As an adopted son of Warsaw and co-host on the podcast, I have enjoyed connecting with the fascinating people who live and work in our community. Whether you’re someone who might be interested in moving here, recently moved here, or if you’ve lived here for years, our community has so much to offer in every corner of the county. You’re going to learn about some new gems in the community when you tune in to the podcast.

The title, “The Clearly Kosciusko Podcast Series” was determined in an effort to promote and propel forward the community brand known as “Clearly Kosciusko.” The county-wide voice was created in partnership between the Lilly Center for Lakes & Streams, KEDCO, Kosciusko County Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce.

“Clearly Kosciusko originally started in 2017 as a campaign to promote the 100+ lakes of our great county.  Over the years, it has grown to tell the story of unity in our community that crafts a sense of place for residents and visitors alike,” said Lilly Center for Lakes & Streams Associate Director Alex Hall. “We are proud to have partners like KEDCO that utilize their platform to show what makes Kosciusko great, and are excited to see more businesses and community organizations take hold of the brand to amplify their own voices and promote their unique contributions to that story.”

The 25th episode of the podcast was features guest and Kosciusko County native, Ben Higgins of Generous Coffee. The episode and podcast can be found at
